Many of us have domain names sitting around gathering dust awaiting our next big development idea, or maybe one of your domains is currently in the process of being developed and getting ready to launch. Rather than parking the domain with a company or using the default park page that many hosting companies offer, you can set up a simple WordPress site to help you make the most of your currently parked (or blank) domain name.
There are several WordPress themes that have been created specifically for those wishing to maximize a parked domain name (or a site that is currently being developed). When visitors come across your domain name they won’t be met with a parked page – but will presented with a design gives them an indication that your site is under development. These themes will not only give you a nice design to tell people what is coming – but several allow you to build an email list or allow people to subscribe to your RSS feed so they know when the site launches.
Whether you’re getting ready to launch a new site or simply want to park some of your domains and start building a list – these WordPress themes can make the process much easier.
Please note: While most of the themes on this page are free, there are a couple that are Premium (paid) themes.

Thanks for featuring CSP Jeremia. It is an awesome PSD freebie by Orman Clark that was missing a WordPress port – so I made it
No problem, always happy to highlight good work
Placeholder and Launchpad are two of my favorite ones.
Oh my! I can’t believe I forgot about Placeholder from Woo Themes! That one I think is the best by far. I wish I would’ve just remembered that a few weeks ago.
Hello there!
Thank you for this help.
I have a question. I would l like to know if it’s possible to put up a ‘coming soon’ theme page and yet still work on our main theme at the same time?
Thank you so much
